Objective
The Student Sponsorship Programme of South Africa (SSP) wanted to begin a new chapter by updating its communications infrastructure, reengaging its donor base, and streamlining operational procedures.

ConceptLink’s Role

ConceptLink developed an ongoing partnership with SSP to achieve its communications and fundraising goals. In 2009, ConceptLink orchestrated a United States “roadshow” for SSP’s new Executive Director, which facilitated direct contact between SSP and its U.S. supporters. ConceptLink also executed a direct mail fundraising campaign for SSP to its U.S. donor base, and is in the process of implementing a new donor management system.

Results
Roadshow
• Engaged more than 50 donors and prospects on SSP’s behalf
• Arranged all travel and meeting logistics for an 8-city, month-long tour, freeing the Executive Director to focus on cultivating relationships
• Trip generated $100,000 for SSP operations
• Strengthened SSP’s fundraising capacity by increasing interest among both former and new funders

Holiday Mail Campaign
• Executed SSP’s end-of-year mailing in under a month, reaching over 2,700 targeted individuals
• Designed new and appealing marketing collateral aimed at both past and prospective donors
• Aggregated SSP’s giving records and proofed the U.S. mailing list
• Increased delivery success to 92%
• Raised more than $30,000 as of January 2010

Donor Management System
• Assessed SSP’s infrastructure needs and evaluated various service providers
• Selected an easy-to-use internet-based software designed specifically for donor management and fundraising.
• Collaborated with the service provider to design a system that will streamline SSP’s fundraising and communications initiatives
• Currently testing system, standardizing historical data, and preparing SSP for the transition
